Hello {{name | Transient Family}},
We’re honored to present The Undoing, the latest release from photographer and artist Michael Sidofsky, also known as Mindzeye, now live on Transient Curated.
Shot amongst abandoned homes in Detroit, The Undoing is a quiet, powerful meditation on personal transformation. Many of the buildings pictured are now being demolished, reflecting the cycle of loss and rebirth captured in the image cycle.
Through four photographs, Sidofsky traces a personal journey of a mysterious central figure pictured alone on city streets, ultimately opting for fire, ‘A quiet act of release,’ before taking ‘the uncertain but necessary step forward.’
The Undoing is a story of departure and becoming, of what we carry, what we burn, and what we build within ourselves when the old architecture of our lives begins to fall away."

The Sense
The first sign that something no longer fits
"There was something in the air that didn’t sit well with him. A shift so slight it could almost be ignored. The world looked the same, but it no longer felt like it belonged to him."

The Horror
The weight of a truth long ignored
"Up close, the truth was impossible to look away from. What had once held meaning now stood hollow and broken. Time had not been kind. And neither had memory."

The Match
A quiet act of release
"He made no speech. No gesture. Just a choice. A quiet, final act. Sometimes, letting go is not about walking away. It is about setting fire to what held you back."

The Becoming
The uncertain but necessary step forward
"He didn’t know where he was going. Only that he was no longer bound to where he’d been. There was a lightness in his step. Not joy. Not relief. But something close to freedom."
